What Does the Micron Sediment Filter Reduce from My Water?

This stage ensures your water is clean and free from large and small particulates, setting the foundation for the following filtration stages. Stage 1 is adept at reducing a wide range of particulates and contaminants from your water, including but not limited to:

Moving on to stage 2, this is where many would say “the magic happens.” This filter media is crafted from coconut shells due to their high carbon content, superior absorbent capabilities, and minimal environmental impact.

Not only is coconut carbon unmatched in terms of chemical absorption, but it is also 100% sustainable and natural. Due to the naturally delicious taste of coconuts, filtering through this media is known to create some of the best-tasting water you can find. Some even say it imparts a naturally ‘sweet’ taste to the water.

The Coconut CTO cartridge is necessary in every single system. Although some chemicals may make it through our stage 1 filter, not many get any further.

Arguably the most important stage of the system is stage 3. Heavy metals are a growing concern in tap water across the entire country, and new side effects and health implications of these metals are being researched continually. Aging infrastructure, rusted pipes, inadequate treatment, and a wide range of other factors contribute to the metal content in our water.

Many pipes and tap-ware installed before recent regulatory changes contain up to 6% lead, impacting a significant portion of the population to some extent. Heavy metals in water have numerous harmful impacts on health, including various types of cancers, weakened immune systems, increased risk of Alzheimer’s or dementia, delays in puberty and development, and an increased risk of learning difficulties such as ADHD in children. These metals accumulate in the body over time and can take months, if not years, to be detoxified.

Our stage 3 utilises ATS, a high-capacity ceramic ion exchanger. This advanced media selectively removes heavy metals like lead and mercury through ion exchange. Unlike traditional filtration, ATS excels at capturing these contaminants without adding chemicals back into the water. The ion exchange process ensures that harmful metals are effectively absorbed, leaving the water cleaner and safer for use. Additionally, ATS works efficiently even in the presence of other competing ions, providing consistent filtration performance.
